RoosterAlarm app for iPhone and iPad
RoosterAlarm wakes you up gently with the soft crowing of a Rooster in the distance, shortly before sunrise. The Rooster gradually gets louder and more insistent. RoosterAlarm is great for camping or vacations when you want to get up early, but you dont need a specific alarm time. Perhaps you like to get up with the sunrise, but you need to sleep with blackout shades to prevent outside lights from keeping you awake at night. How will you know when the sun begins to rise? The RoosterAlarm is perfect for you!
RoosterAlarm uses location-services on your phone to determine your latitude/longitude, then uses this info along with your time zone to calculate the next sunrise at your location. Set the switch to ON and close the app. The Rooster will do his cock-a-doodle-doo job, starting in dawns early light, shortly before the sun actually breaks above the horizon. Enjoy!
NOTE For iOS 5 - It may be required to go to Settings => Notifications on your iPhone to turn on "Sounds" and "View in Lock Screen" for the Rooster alerts.

An app that announces sunrise with the sound of a rooster - what a great idea!
Awesome idea and refreshingly simple but I wish it overrode the silent button - u have to have sound on for it to work unlike other alarms on the iPhone.
